The transcendent trio from Seattle maintains a forward focus on their second album Chronos / Kairos.  Jovial opening track “Whoa!” is catchy, uplifting and keeps me listening. They’re not followers, they’re experimenters with a quirky array of creative collaborators helping to stitch a home baked sound. From the changgo, banjo, violin, cello and trumpets to the mix of male/female vocals and handclaps, Chronos / Kairos blends whimsical harmonies into something Belle & Sebastian would be proud of. From pseudo-somber to coyly sweet, Chronos / Kairos is not generic and it’s not unique, it’s somewhere in the Goldilocks in between of just right. Memorable tracks include, “Sun Will Set And Rise” “Consequence” and “Canon of Devotion.” With choral backups and a blanket of underwater sound, the album is a warmly endearing ten songs that makes me hail further to what the indies have under their sleeves. – Stephanie Bolling
