Scotland Barr the Slow Drags
All the Great Aviators Agree
2008
I never thought I would compare a record to Bruce Hornsby and the Range in the new millennium and actually give it a good review but yet again, my predictions are incorrect. With roots heavily rooted in what we once called americana, traditional arrangements and song writing, this is a record that brings back some of the heyday of early alt-country. Expert players and 4 part vocal harmonies keep the songs well treated, and the smokey vocals of Scotland Barr keep them believable. Expert storytelling brings us all back home to times where the young'uns looked up to the likes of Graham Parsons and Merle Haggard.
