Royal Houser's EP is a easy choice for those that are into Cry of Love, the Black Crowes and even Grand Funk Railroad. Marshall amps with Firebird guitar and Thunderbird bass with plenty of swagger, this band does have a throwback sound, but the guitar pyrotechnics never explode as big as we want them to, and solid vocals lack that whiskey desperation that their predecessors in rock and roll have done so well. Not a bad freshman effort and a band to watch for their sophomore release.
