Plain White Ts
Stop
2007 » Fearless Records
With the recent #1 hit song “Hey There Delilah” and a growing fan base under their belts, Plain White T’s re-released their second full-length album, Stop. Repackaged from the 2002 release, Stop features three bonus tracks, “Cinderella Story,” “Bruises” and “Let’s Pretend.” It all sounds slightly adolescent, slightly premature and mostly like every other upcoming rock band with the exception of their two recent Grammy nominations. Opening and title track, “Stop,” unveils the juvenile focus of love and triviality that could be as pertinent to teenage fans as to twenty and thirty somethings. Slow and sweet tracks, “Shine,” “A Lonely September” and “Radios in Heaven” build the versatility of sound while the high-energy songs, “Can’t Turn Away” and “Let’s Pretend” solidify the alternative rock air of the 00’s. Reminiscent of bands like Jimmy Eat World and Panic! at the Disco, PWT have been out there forming the sounds of the burgeoning generation since the beginning of this decade. They’re plain, they’re white and Stop fits their spec to a T. – Stephanie Bolling
