Angular guitar playing and vocal harmonies, reminiscent of Semisonic and Nada Surf, and a band name derived by a non-sequiter of G.Bush Sr. about the band's hometown Portland seem an odd pairing, but as the music develops through the tracks a full picture is painted  of well thought out songs with a bit of hope and angst with equal aplomb make this record a pleasurable and interesting listen.
