Chroma consists of childhood friends and alumni of Tampa based bands, that transplanted to Jacksonville, then Philadelphia and now to the bright lights of New York. The recent journeyman period of these musicians lives show it's effects on Chromas' new full length release "Maybe it was Tokyo". Experience and dedication have turned an accomplished jam band into a group of talented songwriters. Tracks such as "Long Past Spun" and  "Song for a fictitious cowboy" (an off the cuff stab at americana) showcase excellent memorable melodies and vocal harmonies. The band continues with what it has been known for in soul and funk as well, but steps beyond the jam band tag with relevant lyrics on "Choices". Be sad that these musicians that have escaped the peninsula, but rejoice in their musical growth because of it and look forward to more of their constant touring.
