With a name like Blowing Trees you better be a good band. I googled the name, and I realized quickly based on the pictures that popped up that I didn't  have "safesearch" settings appropriately set on my search engine. Equally as naughty is the slang version of the name which means sitting on the green couch, or firing the boss, or burning a spliff, getting snake eyed, etc etc. The search also showed that they were discovered on Myspace.com and just were a featured band on the Dr.Pepper's / Wendy's SXSW sweepstakes stage...Ok...well somehow despite all this, the band is solid, with a CD full of well produced modern rock. Keyboardist / Vocalist Chris Maddin's perfect vocals soar above a wall of guitars on every track and top 40 radio hooks abound.
