Weekend Bitch, 11/07-11/09
As Weekend Bitch slinks back into the good graces of Master Harrell, he is excited to return to his regulary perch, announcing an exciting 72 hours of exciting local shows. . .
Friday, November 7:
Giddy-Up Helicopter @ New World, Tampa, $6, 9 pm, 21 +. W/ Northvia, Springfield Cubs. I am always in the mood for shoegaze on a cool Friday eve.
Saturday, November 8:
The Presidents of the United States of America @ Janus, St. Pete, $15/$18, 7 pm, all ages. Sorry, no Obama appearances, but it would be cool to have this exploding pop band at innauguration. Oprah would approve.
Bang Bang Boom @ New World, $6, 9 pm, 21 +. W/ Sons of Hippies, The Black Rabbits. If you love the PUSA's (see above) you will love Bang Bang.
Legendary Shack Shakers @ The Social, Orlando, $10, 9 pm, 18 +. W/ Pine Hill Haints. Power blues and kzmet (wtf?!?) by one of Nashville's greats.
Sunday, November 9:
Margot & the Nuclear So and So's @ Crowbar, $9/$11, 9 pm, 18 +. W/ Wild Sweet Orange. Named after Gwyneth Paltrow's character in "Royal Tenenbaums," expect academia pop. You are warned.
The Pink Spiders @ Orpheum, Tampa, $10/$12, 7 pm, all ages. W/ Cruiserweight, Mondo Primo. Do I hear Cheap Trick? Do I hear Weezer for frat guys (wait, that's redundant)? No matter you deja vu interpretation, the Pink Spiders are plain, dumb, fun.

Petrograd Guitarist
My band, Petrograd In Transit, is sharing New World Brewery on Monday night with Look Mexico (!) and UNWED SAILOR (!!). It's our first show in months, plus our first show with new drummer Justin (formerly of bands Lincoln, Enderhall, and others I'm forgetting at the moment). It'll be an awesome show. Show starts at 9, and it's $7 to get in. If not fully-satisfied with your purchase, Rabi will buy you a beer (offer is valid for domestic beers only).
