Troop Morale To Be Boosted With Everclear
Everclear - that sporadically awesome grunge-rock band (World of Noise, anyone?) that slowly turned into a very occasionally decent modern-pop band over the years - will be crossing small portions of the world's biggest oceans in order to perform for Armed Forces and their families. Memorial Day weekend finds Art Alexakis and whatever other dudes make up the group these days playing the U.S. Naval base at Cuba's Guantanamo Bay; then, on July 6, they're performing at a Marine Corps installation in Hawaii.
The act deserves kudos for both its commitment to supporting the troops, and also for somehow managing to hit a couple of beautiful island getaways (hey, I'm not saying Gitmo's a freakin' dream vacation or anything, but come on) in the process. We all have to make sacrifices, kids. Oh, and is this a reunion? Did Everclear ever break up? Discuss.
