REAX TV on Media Talk

Posted Friday, March 14th 2008 by Michael Rabinowitz

Lately, we've been getting a few blasts come our way from our old pal, Wade "Gunner" Tatangelo, music editor at Creative Loafing.  He's been baiting us for quite a while since the Radiohead flap to get more "controversial," likely looking to suck some of our cred away.  But, it just has not been worth the time or energy to respond to his tripe.  I mean we have music news, reviews, and interviews to offer our readers, and Wade. . . well, he's been busy bitching about Pete Wentz's political leanings.  We each have our own priorities.

Last month he crowed about his appearance on internet radio news program, Media Talk.  For the uninitiated, Media Talk is an informative program where local tastemakers are interviewed on their business, careers, and opinions.  You can check out all of their past shows here

Before his last interview, Gunner picked a fight with us, wondering what "my pals at REAX have to say about my performance."  Well, Wade if you must ask, we give you a 2.3.  You had us enthralled about your daring tales of public urination at Gasparilla, but our eyelids got slow and heavy when hearing about your exciting blogging adventures at the Van Hagar concert.  We see you are still in touch as ever with the local music scene.

And, to be honest, it was very difficult to not respond to your call for arms.  Its a little too easy to knock Wade, with all his local music misquotes; a bit like shooting fish in a barrel.  But, to attack his interview would be just unfair to Media Talk, who also have room for REAX on their schedule.  Except this time Wade, there was an actual discussion about relevant music and the local scene.  See the difference?

Below is an interview with our fearless leader, REAX publisher Joel Cook, on Media Talk about our newly minted music channel www.reax.tv.  The goal of this on demand TV channel is to bring the same exciting content you find monthly in our magazine pages and here online; that is, live peformances, weekly news, album reviews, artist interviewes, music videos (remember those?), and much more.  Keep your eyes pealed for the pending launch date of REAX TV.

So, how 'bout dem apples, Wade?
