Thanks to Brooklyn Vegan for the heads up and my apologies for not picking this up sooner.  Athens, GA veteran folkist, Matthew Houck, aka Phosphorescent, constructs his music out of compassion and warmth that, at moments, is a triumph against today’s age of instant gratification pop and rock; “Cocaine Lights,” being a ethereal blurry ballad that raises your soul as high as any choir hymn.  Just be to sure have the patience of a Tibetan monk before playing.  Houck's music is not for the Red Bull set.
