Kevin Costner Serenades Tampa Bay Rays With Generic Country Song
Pigs are flying, Satan caught a cold, and the Four Horsemen are sharing a Bud Lite at Ferg's Sport's bar. Your Tampa Bay Rays did the impossible, defeat the Red Sox and Yankees to become the American League East Champions. Playoffs (playoffs!?!!?) began here in Tampa tomorrow at 2:30, and it almost goes with out saying, I am legitimately psyched beyond my 5'10'' frame.
So, the entire sporting world finally notices our little baseball team. Like Red Sox nation, who has Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Stephen King among its fanbase, its now the Rays turn for celebrity love. And who can it be? Kevin Costner (crickets chirp).
Yeah, I know. He now looks more like Jon Lovitz than John Dunbar, but if you remember, the Costner Karma is why the Rays are successful. If you recall, Costner was the key note speaker, and musical performer last year, when the Rays introduced their new unis and dropped the evil "Devil" from their moniker.
TBO has the streaming song Costner penned for us, "Its All Up To You." The music is generic Toby Keith country bullshit and the lyrics go as follows:
"You got to swing for the fence, give a hundred percent,
"Dust yourself off, get up and do it again.
"You're the only one that can make your dreams come true.
"You're the only one, it's all up to you."
I think Dylan is sweating right about now.
You can download "Its All Up To You" here. Go Rays!
