Huey Wants A New Drug
The first soundtrack he worked on made over $300 million worldwide ("Back To The Future"). The second one became a kareoke cult hit with Gwyneth Paltrow.
Now, Huey Lewis, the master of blue eyed soul, and good luck charm to all movie executives, is back providing and 80's good times rock n' roll to a new soundtrack that takes looks to be a re-"hash" (god, I am the fucking pun master!) with the new buddy stoner comedy "Pineapple Express", brought to you by the fine boys who gave us "Superbad," "Knocked Up," "40 Year Old Virgin," and any other comedy featuring grown men acting like they are 13 years old.
Huey is on title track duty here and it feels like Sports all over again.
Check out the new track at Pineapple's Myspace page. Listen closely and you can hear Seth Rogan choacking on the Maui Wowie.
The trailer gives you an idea (with an excellent use of M.I.A.'s "Paper Planes"):
