While Blake Sennett is doing the dilated pupil thang with Winona Ryder, Ms. Jenny Lewis, aka "Strawberry Cupcake" (my nickname for the red haired beauty) is putting the final coffin nail into the demise of Rilo Kiley.  Seriously, why does she even need them?  She is one album away from becoming a mainstream star in her own right. 

And it looks like Lewis is making her case now, taking the edgier Sheryl Crowe route with Acid Tongue.  From the album cover and the title track (below), Lewis has a darker side that goes beyond Rabit Fur Coat.  The phone number, dial 888-717-2243 to listen to some tracks, is an interesting concept, a nod to early 80's publicity and Arcade Fire's  Neon Bible tact. 

Acid Tounge is out 9/23 on Warners with guest appearances by Elvis Costello, Zooey Deschanel, M. Ward, and Chris Robinson.
