Saint Valentines Massacre
from volume 02 issue 05 // Megan Leppla
Saint Valentines Massacre – Tampa
Words: Megan Leppla
What They Sound Like:
After two years of getting in the groove of this melodic metal scene, Saint Valentines Massacre is ready to get their feet wet with a little label shopping. The boys feel they’ve got something to offer and despite the recent trend of doing away with big labels, they feel that with their talent and a little representation they could potentially be launched into the fast lane. I was able to exchange a few words with guitarist/vocalist Paul Starr.
In Their Words:
REAX: What are some of your accomplishments as a band?
Paul Starr: We seem to win a lot of battle of the bands events, we've built up a strong international fan base of about 40,000 people, and gotten almost 400,000 plays on MySpace so far.
REAX: What are you working on now?
PS: Our old guitarist left for California, so we're training our new guitarist, and working on 6-7 new songs, as well as hoping to seriously saturate the rest of the year with shows throughout Florida, and continuing to promote and build our fan base.
Why You Should Check Them Out:
This group is careful to generously blend the intense sounds of screams with an array of catchy melodies to keep a broad spectrum of listeners. I even find myself bobbing my head with the rhythm, and almost disappointed when the screams stop and turn to singing. These guys promise to deliver, and often get in the faces of fans to create an engaging live show.

I'm seriously impressed at how much better they've gotten over the years. They put on a damn good show! Just saw them play at Bourbon St. on Sept. 15th...let me tell you, they blew the competition away! Why aren't they signed to a major record label yet is my question?
