Smile Maker’s Awesome-Ass Hamburgers
I’m from the south, we do it all to taste, ya digg?
Stuff you’ll need:
1lb Natural/Hormone-Free LEAN Hamburger (hormone beef is 30 water pumped, so you loose a lot of the overall beef when it cooks down. Organic/Natural beef doesn’t shrink.)
1 Container of Classico “Sundried Tomato Pesto” Paste
Sea Salt
Cracked Black Pepper
Garlic
Organic Butter Lettuce
Black Avocado (none of those Florida ones)
Pumpernickel Bread/Rolls
&
Your Choice of Condiments!
Break the hamburger up, and drop in two tablespoons of Classico pesto. You want to use the lean hamburger, because the Classico has olive oil already in it, so you don’t want it overly greasy. Add your sea salt and black pepper to taste and then add a teaspoon of garlic powder or a dash of the real shit minced! Mix the hamburger really well and let it sit in the fridge for 30-40 minutes (any excess olive oil the beef can’t absorb usually sinks to the bottom of the bowl). Pat it out however you like, we do fist size at the house. Usually makes about 4-6. Grill to your own perfection (charcoal for the best flavor).
Butter Lettuce is the jump off, accept no imitations, iceberg is a joke. Only break the leaves as you serve, and try not to rip it. Organic vegetables are sometimes more fragile then your hormone fed ones. Slice your avocado during the last minutes of your grilling; avocados are known to change colors fairly quickly so you want to make sure you keep it fresh and have all the lush color we’re after when you plate it. (Quick tip, if you have no idea how to tell if avocado is ripe, lightly squeeze it: if it’s mushy it’s too done, if it’s hard it’s not ripe, and if it’s just a little bit soft, like a real boob, then it’s the jump off.) We roll with the devil’s-fart for bread at all times. So slice your pumpernickel at home or have the baker do it. It adds a good contrast to the taste of your burgers! Enjoy and remember this, ilovesmilemaker.com.
