The Tampa Bay Area lost a local legend. Greg Marchak passed away unexpectedly on September 6th after suffering an aneurism. His influence on Central Florida's music scene was obvious in the last decade as many bands that he produced or engineered out of Tampa's Audio Lab Studios broke into regional and national success. Literally hundreds of bands and composers of every genre imaginable turned to "Super-G" when it was time to put their music out.  His humor and influence will be greatly missed.

" Greg, he was a wild man a crazy guy but he had great ears, he had listened to the same things that I had listened to. You know how it is; certain guys speak the same language, and Greg and I did that. He knew what records I had just by listening to me, He's the only guy I had ever made my own records with, he shaped me musically, and I am really going to miss Greg."
-Damon Fowler, the Damon Fowler Band

"This is a tragedy beyond words for all of us... his family and the many friends, bands, and musicians that had the privilege of knowing and working with such a wonderful human being."
-Jon Olivia ,Savatage, Jon Olivia's Pain, Trans Siberian Orchestra

"This was a man of musical genius and artistic integrity.  Most of all though, to many of us, a man with a truly beautiful view of the world.  Knowing that above all, this journey is one of comedy.  Even in the tragedy, he always found a sense of humor."
-Brett Williams , Mighty Joe Plum

A memorial show in his honor is set for December 16th at Skipper's Smokehouse in Tampa Florida 2pm -11pm . 7.00 cover with all proceeds going to University of South Florida Music Department in Greg Marchak's name. This is a chance to see a wide variety of exceptional groups, some of which are reforming their bands for this show. From all that knew the man, expect this to be a party; one that he would have liked to attend.
